The Firm was involved in the entire procedure of the registration of all general plans at the Surveyor General and subsequent opening of township registers of at least 9 different RDP housing developments.
We attended to the transfer of in excess of 3000 low-cost housing units within the former Kungwini Local Municipality.
The Firm is experienced in both the Formal and the Informal township establishment procedures. It has been extensively involved in township establishment and proclamation of various RDP housing projects. We take pride in the fact that the Firm was nominated by the former Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, previously the MEC for Housing and Land Affairs, the Honourable Sicelo Shiceka as one of the top three conveyancing Firms in the Gauteng Province in respect of RDP Housing Projects in 1998.
We have also been intensely involved in Development Facilitation Act applications and in particular providing assistance to Municipalities relating to the drafting of comments in support of and opposing Development Facilitation Tribunal hearings.
We provide assistance in drafting Red Book Engineering compliant specifications, services agreements, conditions of establishment and other general conditions for purposes of township development to ensure the protection of Municipalities.
Over the years the Firm has been actively involved and has adequate experience in providing sound legal advice in respect of property acquisition and disposals, lease agreements, property development and property financing.
The Firm has previously served on the panels of Absa Bank Limited, FirstRand Bank Limited (First National Bank), Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and Nedcor Bank Limited for conveyancing and bond registrations purposes, although all bank work was terminated following the recession conditions in 2011.
